TOGETHER WE CAN is a peer-run, 501c3 not-for-profit organization that supports adults dealing with mental health issues in Marshall and surrounding Counties.  

What is Peer Support?

Peer support is when people use their own experiences to help each other.

What do peer support specialists do?

Peer support workers are people who have been successful in the recovery process and help others experiencing similar situations. Through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment, peer support workers help people become and stay engaged in the recovery process and reduce the likelihood of relapse.

Scheduled And Walk-In

Peer Support

Speaking and or working on issues one on one with a peer support specialist. Also available are WRAP and SMART Goals.

Support Group That Includes Educational Materials.

We have groups that meet for eight weeks and every eight weeks the educational topics change.

 

Standing Focus Support Groups

Depression, Anxiety: and will also include   educational material specific to each group and NAMI Connections.

WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plans)

A simple and effective strategy for achieving the life and wellness you desire. The WRAP approach helps you identify the tools that help you maintain your well-being and develop action plans to implement them in your daily life. WRAP guides you through the process of incorporating important recovery principles and wellness practices into your plans and life.

SMART Goals Class

A method to help you reach the life and wellness you want. The SMART Goals method allows you to write goals that are clear, attainable, and meaningful and provides the motivation and focus you need to be successful.

​

Anger Management Class

Learn ways to decrease the overall intensity and frequency of angry feelings, and increase the ability to recognize and appropriately express angry feelings as they occur.

NAMI Peer - to - Peer

An eight-session educational program for adults with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery.

Services provided in person, by phone and online

Staff
Becky Brown and Deb Williams are both State of Iowa Certified Peer Recovery Specialists
who have lived experiences and participated in peer-specific training in the competency areas of:

o Advocacy

o Recovery and Wellness

o Mentoring and Education

o Ethical Responsibility
